Brake discs fitting instructions

1.Remove the wheel. Disconnect the wear indicator wire(s), if present.
Using a suitable tool, remove the brake pad retaining pins and the support springs. Remove the caliper body without disconnecting the brake hose. -
2.Remove the bolts that secure the brake caliper bracket to the knuckle.

3.Remove the screws which secure the brake disc in position.

4.Remove the brake disc from the hub.

5.Remove dirt and rust from the hub surface with a wire brush or abrasive pad. Check that the surface is not deformed or damaged.
Check the functionality of the wheel bearings. -
6.Coated brake discs do not need to be cleaned prior to installation.
Blanc or uncoated brake discs need to be cleaned and degreased prior to installation. -
7.Install the new brake disc on the hub and fix in place with the securing screw(s).

8.Using a DTI gauge fixed to the suspension bracket, measure the brake disc runout at approx.10 mm from the outer circumference. Run-out should not exceed 0.1 mm!

9.Install the brake caliper bracket. Fit new brake pads. On directional brake pads please note the correct mounting position. Using a suitable tool, install the brake pad retaining pins and springs. Install the brake caliper.

10.Re-install the correctly balanced wheel. Tighten the wheel bolts to themanufacturers torque specification, using a crosswise pattern.

11.Test drive the vehicle and apply the brakes several times, with moderate force, to ensure a correct seat of the new brake pads with the new brake discs. For the first 200 -300 Km avoid hard stops to ensure proper bedding in of the brake pads on the brake disc.
